Celebrate Women’s History Month With Our Co-Founder Abby Taylor

International women's month picture

March is a month of many things– March Madness, the start of spring (or autumn, if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere), St. Patrick’s Day, and, of course, Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day.

Women’s History Month began back in 1981, and has come a long way since. In the 40+ years since it began women of all colors, religions, and backgrounds have been making their mark on the world. We live in a time of Naomi Osaka and Simone Biles; Whitney Wolfe Herd and Mary Barra; Chief Master Sgt. JoAnne S. Bass; and of course, our very own Abby Taylor.

Our Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Abby Taylor, is the creative mind behind all things Playa Bowl. She spearheads our marketing team, creates stellar content across our main social media accounts, and conceptualizes new products and merchandise for our team, and all Playa Babes and Bros. Essentially, she does all of the fun stuff that brings you the best of Pineappleland. So, it seems only natural to celebrate the OG woman of Playa Bowls all month long.

Our behind the scenes woman you should know

In the beginning, Abby painted all of our stores. She made the #GoodVibes of Playa Bowls come to life. But once expansion took off, Ramona Schatzer came on board as our artistic visionary. Ramona is truly someone to celebrate this Women’s History Month. She travels to each individual location (140+ locations) and carefully paints the walls by hand. Her artistic talents have become the background for many Instagrammable posts!

She is also the co-owner of Playa Bowls Penn State.

Women of the waves

It wouldn’t be Women’s History Month at Playa Bowls without highlighting the women of our 2022 Playa Bowl Surf Team: Casey Kwiecinski, Jessica Kwiecinski, Mia Gallagher, and Brynn Gallagher. As the season of surf approaches these women are set to make waves and give it their all. Be sure to follow along.

As you celebrate the women in your life, and yourself (we see you, Playa Babes), this month, don’t forget about The Leprechaun Bowl. It’s back in-stores for one day only on March 17. Count your lucky charms with a green base topped with blueberry flax granola, banana, kiwi, coconut flakes and peanut butter. Share it with a friend, a family member, or even a woman you admire.

Happy Women’s History Month, from all of us in Pineappleland!
