2022

MOVE FOR HUNGER

Move For Hunger is a national non-profit organization that has created a sustainable way to reduce food waste and fight hunger. They have mobilized the leaders of moving, relocation and multi-family industries to provide their customers, clients and residents with the opportunity to donate their food when they move. We hosted a food drive and in-store donation options in all of our stores before the Thanksgiving holiday. Learn more here.

St. Jude Children's research hospital

Playa Bowls was honored to partner with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital this year.  With the help of our Playa Bowls community we raised funds to support St. Jude patients and their families. The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. No child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay. Read more here and see how you can help!

2021

LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY

Playa Bowls partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the month of May in 2021. We were honored to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) which is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services. Read more here and see how you can help!

BLACK GIRLS SURF

In celebration of Black History Month we partnered with this totally rad organization committed to providing surf education, training, and opportunities to young black surfers everywhere.

Black Girls Surf was founded by US Coast Guard veteran Rhonda Harper, who noticed a lack of visibility within professional surfing and decided to become the black badass surf mentor that she didn’t have when she was young. To date, Black Girls Surf has sent hundreds of young black athletes to train and compete in surf competitions all over the world. Read more here.

2020

TOYS FOR TOTS

The objective of Toys for Tots is to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to improving communities in the future. HELP OUR HEROES

This initiative was created by Playa Bowls to open up an avenue for our community to make donations towards providing bowls and smoothies to essential workers during the pandemic. We then had employees safely deliver the items to local hospitals, police stations, nursing homes & more.

2018 & 2020

MARY'S PLACE BY THE SEA

Mary’s Place By The Sea is a respite home for women who are receiving treatment for cancer. Guests can take a much needed break in their custom-built 10 bedroom home in Ocean Grove, New Jersey and receive holistic, integrative services focused on rejuvenating their mind, body and soul. We offered an option to “donate at checkout” during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

 

AMOUNT RAISED: $47,224

SUBMIT A FUNDRAISING / DONATION REQUEST

Before you submit a request, please make sure your organization meets each of the below criteria and includes the following:

1) Must be a tax exempt, non-profit organization as defined by IRS Code 501(c)3


2) Please attach a copy of your organization’s federally issued statement of your 501(c)3 status in the form below.


3) Don’t forget to send a description of your organization as well as a summary letting us know how the event/fundraiser/program will benefit our community


4) We must receive your application and ALL supporting documents a minimum of 8 – weeks prior to the date your donation is needed.
