Give a Little Bit: Our Partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Playa Bowls is proud to partner, for the first time, with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that is paving the way for treating and defeating pediatric cancer, and other life-threatening diseases.

 

St. Jude was chosen when our co-founder’s [Rob and Abby] compassion for children spread throughout our company. As parents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and family members, our entire Playa Bowl community understands the lifesaving work that St. Jude does, and empathizes that no family should ever have to worry about the survival of a child.

 

That’s why now through January 14th, 2022, all Playa Bowls locations will be part of a nationwide donation collection with a single goal in mind— to change as many children’s lives as we can, and ease the burden on those who care for them. Located in Memphis, TN with several affiliate locations, St. Jude families who receive support never pay for treatment, travel, housing, or food so they can focus on the thing that truly matters: their loved one.

 

Did you know that research has shown giving back is actually good for your health? Beyond feelings of happiness (doing good equals feeling good), donating time or money to a cause can:

 

• Lessen stress and feelings of depression
• Lower your blood pressure
• Helps you live longer 
• Promotes connection and community

 

With your help we can support St. Jude patients and the scientists that create lifesaving work (which is then shared with the rest of the scientific community). Think your dollar doesn’t count? Guess again. Here is what your donation can help pay for:

 

• $3: a pediatric isolation mask
• $5: a snack bag
• $10: a new toy for the play areas
• $250: a meal card for a family for one week
• $1,000: covers two-thirds of the cost of one day of chemotherapy
